Post-Valentine’s Post (Part 1)

Some dates to remember:

P’s birthday - February 18th, a Thursday

Valentine’s Day - February 14th, a Sunday

I went out for dinner with my friend Fhebie Saturday night last week. I also took it as the perfect opportunity to look for a birthday present for P, probably also Valentine present if you count that too.

I actually already had the perfect present in mind, but I just couldn’t find it.

Late last year, P bought a late 2008 Macbook Pro that he’d been saving up for. For his Christmas present, I bought him a Belkin Ceylon Messenger Bag for when he needed to go out with the laptop.

He still needed a sleeve, though, for storing the laptop at home. The bag is great and all, but still too bulky to leave on top of a desk. He has been eyeing the Tucano Microfiber Second Skin sleeve, which we’d seen at a PowerMac store in Megamall, but was too cheap to buy it.

Met Fhebie at Greenbelt 3, which fortunately also carried said sleeves, even if they only had two left. Did my gift-shopping in less than two minutes, hah! Fastest time yet. Haha.

A laptop sleeve is admittedly not the most romantic present to give your boyfriend, but we are practical. And he loved it!

Besides, the present still had a romantic air to it: I bought it in RED.

P was so excited to open his gift, that he didn’t even pause to admire the gift-wrapping, which I had done at Karton. I took a photo after he opened it:

If I only had enough money, I’d give him presents all the time. <3

Comprehension much?

I was interested to bid on an item on eBay.com, but the seller had put a restriction on it—only users registered in the US can bid. Boo. I was very interested, and figured that maybe I could ask her to lift the restriction for me, if I’d asked nicely.

ME: I am interested to bid on your item. Even though I am not from the US, I was planning to have it shipped to a mail forwarder in California, who will then ship it to me in the Philippines. Would it be possible to make an exception for me in this case?

SELLER: As long as the address in Cali is legitimate and I receive payment through Paypal within the 3 days, there shouldn’t be a problem. I don’t ship to the Philippines.

ME: The problem is that I am not registered in the US. So I can’t bid on your item, hence the request for possible exception.

SELLER: Sorry, I don’t ship out of US. Thanks for asking.

Meh. It’s not worth the trouble anymore. That item lost its appeal pretty fast.
